Linkly

Privacy policy

Last updated October 2026

Linkly collects only what it needs to sell you passes, get you in the door and, if you choose, connect you with people going to the same events. We follow Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA). Privacy contact: [support email].

What we collect and why

  1. Name and email: your account, passes, receipts and reminders. Hosts see your name on the door list for events you buy.
  2. Profile photo (optional): shown on guest lists only if you turn that on, and only to pass holders for that event.
  3. Orders and attendance: receipts, refunds and "people you may know". Hosts see sales totals; no one else sees your order history.
  4. Links and Find Your Crowd choices: grouping solo guests and showing mutual links.
  5. Payment details: processed by Stripe. Linkly never stores full card numbers.
  6. Age confirmation: to meet event age rules. Not shared.
  7. Device and usage data: keeping the site working and safe, and stopping fraud.

Contacts (optional)

If you choose to sync contacts in the app, phone numbers are scrambled on your phone and only used to find people already on Linkly. We never message your contacts, never tell them you joined, and never keep numbers of people who aren't on Linkly. Turning sync off deletes your synced list.

Your choices

  1. A host can only email you about their future events if you ticked that box at checkout. Every message has a way to stop.
  2. Visitors who aren't signed in never see names or "people you may know", only counts and blurred photos.
  3. We keep your data while your account is open and delete it within 90 days of closing it, except records the law makes us keep.
  4. You can hide from guest lists, turn off notifications, or delete your account and data.
  5. Questions or complaints: [support email]. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
